Programmer/Analyst
This is a programming position.
We are seeking a full-time programmer/analyst whose responsibilities will include:
•Collaborating daily with a team of nationally recognized health economists, policy experts, clinicians, analysts, and research associates;
•Analyzing, cleaning, restructuring, and managing large and complex health care databases;
•Using and developing computer programs to facilitate completion of operationally complicated tasks;
•Maintaining documentation for data and programs;
•Providing support for writing manuscripts to be published in peer-reviewed journals.
A successful candidate is likely to possess the following qualifications:
•BS or MS in relevant field (including computer science, engineering with computational background, operations research, applied sciences, etc.);
•Experience with mathematical programming is essential (SAS, Stata, R, Matlab, Mathematica), health care-related programming is preferrred;
•Additional desirable languages: C/C++, SQL, Ox
•Knowledge of multiple programming languages and demonstrated ability to adapt to different programming frameworks;
•Familiarity with standard programming tools in a Linux environment (e.g. Make, version control, shell scripting);
•Proficiency with MS Excel (MS Access or similar a plus);
•Ability to work effectively individually and as part of a team;
•Strong written and verbal communication skills;
•Excellent time management skills and ability to meet deadlines;
•Flexibility to adapt to diverse client and project needs in a fast-paced “start-up-like” environment;
•Demonstrated interest in health care.
